Lazybrook

Lazybrook

Once settled in the early 1800s by German immigrants, Lazybrook began as an area of scattered farms. Named for its location on the western bank of White Oak Bayou near The Heights, Lazybrook began developing in the early 1950s offering traditional postwar, ranch style homes on spacious lots. The area continues to thrive as tree-lined streets and large lots continue to be a draw for homebuyers. Together with the adjoining Timbergrove neighborhood, many homes in this area have undergone renovations and updates that appeal to today’s buyers, adding to the continued appreciation of real estate and land values.

Lazybrook provides comfortable suburban living with a community atmosphere. Neighborhood beautification, maintenance, and security are all monitored by the Lazybrook Civic Club, a volunteer group founded in 1960. The Civic Club also hosts events and helps to enforce deed restrictions. Conveniently located inside the 610 Loop, those living in Lazybrook have easy access to Downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center, Rice Village, and the Galleria area. Any number of retail locations, dining, and entertainment venues are all attainable with just a short drive.

For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there are plenty of parks in and around the Lazybrook neighborhood including T.C. Jester Parkway, West 11th Street Park, and Timbergrove Manor Park. Jaycee Park is only a few blocks away and features a picnic area, a basketball court, tennis courts, and a playground. In addition, the West White Oak Bayou Trail runs along the banks of the bayou offering just over 7 miles of lighted travel for pedestrians and cyclists as they make their way through several nearby parks.

Whether you enjoy adventure or keeping things close to home, Lazybrook is a neighborhood that offers a little something for everyone.
