Woodforest North II

Woodforest North II

Just north of the Houston Ship Channel, lies Woodforest North , a neighborhood in Harris County bounded by Interstate 10 and Beltway 8. Woodforest North is an older community, and its borders have remained the same over time. The area is made up of both residential and commercial properties.

Part of North Shore, Woodforest is one of its many communities. Annexed by Houston in the 1950s Woodforest is the best known subdivision within North Shore.  The area was developed by the founder and CEO of VIP Homes in the 1960s and 1970s with designs that included mostly single family, ranch style homes.

Many small businesses and family-owned restaurants are located throughout the community. In addition, residents have access to several schools, churches, the North Shore Rotary Park, and the Grayson Community Center which organizes activities for residents in the area. With access to Beltway 8 and I-10, those living in the Woodforest community are able to travel with ease to other parts of the city. In fact, the Metro system serves the area and runs throughout all parts of Houston.
